An ASCII-driven Sci-Fi RPG, GRIST is a galaxy-spanning adventure in which you will explore the worlds of the future - from vast mountain ranges, to asteroid fields, glittering ring stations, and more. Challenge your crew with tests of skill, participate in strategic card-based battles, and put your very humanity on the line as you draw ever closer to a ten-thousand year old mystery.
GRIST draws on a heritage of table-top RPGs, gamebooks, and classic CRPGs from the 1980s, resynthesizing them into a glowing terminal-wave aesthetic with driving basslines, exploding ASCII particles, and a healthy dose of existential horror. So plug yourself into life-support, disengage the docking clamps, and enter the world of GRIST.
Level up or hire new crew to gain new Order Cards and Passive Abilities
Take advantage of card interactions and buffs by placing crew member into formation strategically
Equip crew with build-defining items salvaged from the battlefield or obtained on the black market
Multiple mission types, from combat oriented to dialogue oriented
Every run is different - missions, locations, rewards, and crew are all procedurally generated
Mix and match from a variety of classes and items to build a deck and exploit synergies
A vast sci-fi story covering over 10,000 years of human history reveals itself with each choice you make
